An excerpt from The Dream Dilemma (Reflections of EL - Book 2)
Who we are attracted to is not always under our control. The eventual give and take, is. Deidre’s Rule
The Wish - She had not dreamed in months or at least not any that she could remember. But the dreams seemed to have returned with regularity after Deidre had attended Kelly’s wedding.
During the simple, but affectionate ceremony and then the day after, whenever Deidre thought about Dyllon, she could not help, but smile. He was the best thing that could have happened to Kelly. He was definitely a keeper. But the warm feelings that she was having for the couple seemed to take a turn after the same disturbing dream continued to haunt her with alarming promptness.
Deidre tried nightly, and often during the day, to understand why the dream from last December, had returned for almost nightly visits. Back then, she had only dreamt once of the face, but the details of the events were becoming frightfully more real. What was even more disturbing was if she happened to wake during the night and then laid her head down to sleep again, the dream sequence would start from the beginning as if someone had rewound a movie reel. Somehow she was being shown a series of events, but why? Deidre looked back on the past few weeks and realized how it all started or how it had restarted.
I enjoy the mystery that writing a good story offers. Effective writing has occurred when the reader is forced to quickly look over their shoulder.
